David Connolly uses inventive methods to ensure his Year 11s gain the maximum possible understanding before their approaching exam.
David, head of business education at Dixon's City Academy, believes accounts and finance can traditionally be a dry and difficult area to teach creatively and effectively.
Comparing the business to a patient and the balance sheet to a health check he brings the subject to life.
His plan of attack also includes steering away from the textbooks, avoiding numbers until the pupils understand the meaning of key terms like assets and liabilities, and using examples and exercises that are topical and relevant to them.
