Follow headteacher Wanda Noakes as she starts her second term at Daubeney Primary School in north east London. In this episode, Hackney Learning Trust arrives to complete a review of teaching and learning in the school.
Every member of staff has their lessons observed and the senior management team has their performance reviewed. The results are not good. A tough set of targets are set for Wanda and some critical decisions have to be made about people's jobs. With pressure mounting to raise school standards Wanda has some crucial decisions to take.
One of these decisions involves both her long-serving deputies agreeing to leave the school. We hear about this decision from all perspectives, Wanda?s perspective and those of her deputies, one of whom comes to terms with the end of her 30 year career at Daubeney primary school.
Alongside this, school life continues unabated. We observe Wanda's building plans for the Early Years and capture the moment her support staff join the nationwide Unison strike for pensions half way through the term
