The area around Ypres in Belgium witnessed a huge loss of British life during the First World War.
In this programme, we follow a Year 9 history class as they visit some of the area's key battle grounds and cemeteries.
Their tour focuses on the individual stories of those who fought and, in preserved trench systems, the class get a feel for soldiers' everyday lives.
In the evening, the children join in an act of remembrance as buglers sound the Last Post at the Menin Gate.
Finally, they see a moving re-enactment of the truce of Christmas 1914, and get an opportunity to speak with both a British and German war veteran.
