Description

This series showcases the talents of teachers who do remarkable things outside of the classroom. This episode features both a dog exhibitor and a champion power lifter.

Avril Purdy is the head of the learning support faculty at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham. In her spare time, she is a successful exhibitor of championship level dogs.

Avril currently exhibits both Pomeranians and Samoyeds. She has won 170 Challenge certificates, has judged at Crufts and writes a weekly column for Dog World magazine.

Ed Nonis is a teacher at Ivydale Primary School in Nunhead, south east London. He is also a world champion powerlifter and shares his passion for the sport with his pupils to inspire and motivate them.

He won the silver medal at the European championships in 2003 and gold, in his weight category, at the 2006 Global Powerlifting Committee's World Championships.
