Wadhurst Primary school in East Sussex is a small school doing well. And not just with mainstream pupils, they've also successfully integrated 10 statemented children with varying degrees of disability ranging from Daniel, a seven-year-old with cerebral palsy to Anna, an eight-year-old with severe visual impairment.

How has this been achieved? Where has outside help and support been accessed and what creative solutions have been found when support has been unavailable?

The Wadhurst story is an honest appraisal of the reality of dealing with severely disabled pupils in a mainstream setting. From their experiences - both their success and failures - there are lessons to be learnt for all primary schools.
