Thinking skills are thought to enhance the performance of students because they use activities that are more challenging in terms of the thinking required by them. But they can be daunting to use, particularly for student teachers.
Paul Ticehurst is an advanced skills teacher with a huge interest in developing thinking skills with his students.
In this programme, Paul works with student teachers to analyse the pitfalls and positives of incorporating thinking skills into a class using footage of one of his own Key Stage 3 geography classes.
