The Genie and the Lamp: Projectors that never need a new bulb

Casio has long been the leader in maintenance-free projectors for schools and universities, with its own Laser & LED Hybrid light source providing years of high-brightness images that never dim and never need expensive replacement lamps.

Casio first introduced the Laser & LED Hybrid light source in 2010, and was the first manufacturer to use a solid-state light source instead of traditional and unreliable lamps. The result has been a sea change in how technology buyers choose projectors — the lifetime cost (total cost of ownership) of owning a projector can now be significantly reduced, if not eliminated altogether. Casio is so confident of its long-lasting technology that it offers a 5-year/10,000-hour warranty covering both the light source and hardware.

Technology marches on, but that’s no reason to adopt the latest gadgets just for the sake of it. The best educational devices combine cutting-edge technology with sensible thinking, where every aspect has been designed to improve the learning experience while keeping maintenance costs to a minimum and lessening the impact on the natural environment.

Casio Projectors has now released two new additions to its Laser & LED Hybrid light source range. The XJ-H2600 and the XJ-H2650 are both WXGA projectors with a brightness of 3,500 ANSI lumens. Casio’s Laser & LED technology also boasts a light source life of 20,000 hours, eliminating maintenance but and cuts operating costs, while achieving maximum brightness in as little as five seconds from start-up.

With their powerful output and consistent image, the XJ-H2600, and the XJ-H2650 with added connectivity, are both well-suited for projecting in everything from small reception classes to large lecture hall audiences. The new Casio models also feature the following functions:

Keylock function prevents unauthorised access
The projector can be disabled using key operation on the main unit, making it secure from mischievous children!

DLP® 3D projection function
Becoming ever more popular as a teaching aid, 3D content can bring subjects to life and studies have shown that pupils find it easier to recall information they were taught using 3D projectors. 3D glasses sold separately.

Energy-saving Intelligent Brightness Control
Integrated light sensors automatically adjust the projection brightness level according to the ambient lighting. This reduces power consumption by as much as 63%.

Custom logo feature at start-up
Users can capture and save projection screen data, such as a school or university logo, and use it for the projector’s start-up screen.

Smartphone and USB memory presentations
With the XJ-H2650, users can give wireless presentations using a smartphone (software require) or computer that supports wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11 b/g), or project data from a USB memory device (file conversion required).

Interactive Pointer (sold separately)
Teaching staff can point at the projection screen and operate a connected PC.
