Mathematician, Steve Humble, looks at symmetry and circumference for Key Stage 3 maths students, drawing on the architecture at Durham Cathedral for inspiration.
Steve Humble, aka Dr Maths, examines how a cathedral like Durham was designed using the master mason's practical geometry, symmetry, pattern and proportions.
Here, Steve discovers some hidden symmetry in Durham Cathedral and the challenge now is to find the circumference of one of the columns.
The video uses Northern Architecture's Making Architecture Count project for schools.
