Disability

Description

A 15-year-old boy describes how he was bullied due to his disability, in this PSHE lesson and assembly starter for primary and secondary pupils.

The boy explains the effect bullying had on him at primary school and how he suffered racist bullying and was singled out because of his disability, showing how victims are often picked on because they are different.

He explains how music played a part in transforming him from a shy victim of bullying into a confident and sociable young man.

This short video can be used to start discussions on issues including; how jealousy can change friendships, whether someone?s disability would affect the way pupils talked to them, and whether someone in their class be treated differently if they were disabled.
