This secondary PSHE lesson starter looks at why some young people join gangs and gang culture, with opinions from students, teachers and police officers.

The classroom resource asks why young people join gangs, and what they do when they're in a gang. There are some thought provoking responses, opinions and facts, and a look at gang culture.

Designed to stimulate discussion in KS3 and KS4 PSHE classes, questions following the starter could include what pupils think of gangs, and what experience they have of them in their local area.
