Maths expert Wendy Fortescue-Hubbard uses her food and equipment in her kitchen to show easy ways to introduce fractions to KS2 and KS3 pupils.
Using chocolate, Wendy introduces the concept of one whole and halves.
Wendy also shows a fun way of teaching top heavy fractions and mixed fractions to pupils by using coloured paper. She encourages both teachers and pupils to get tearing to divide the paper up into thirds and fifths.
