Storytelling: Miserly Farmer

Description

Use this short video with Key Stage 1 pupils to stimulate creative writing and storytelling in the class.

It tells a traditional Punjabi story about a mean farmer who employs a demon to work on his farm - with disastrous results!

The video sets up the basic plot, introduces the main characters and stops at an appropriate place so the primary class can predict and write about what happens next.

This creates the chance to encourage primary pupils to practise literacy skills, finishing the story either orally or in writing.
