Julie Summerfield visits St Johns Secondary School in Marlborough, to observe headteacher Patrick Hazelwood's work as an advocate of independent learning.
Julie talks to the staff and observes a number of lessons where independent learning techniques are implemented.
Afterwards, she returns to her own school in Oxfordshire to reflect upon what she has learned.
Independent learning consultant Jackie Beere, talks to Julie about what steps she would have to take to introduce an independent learning framework to her school.
Later Julie and her staff discuss the challenges and benefits of introducing an independent learning framework, and decide whether it is something they would like to pursue.
