The problems facing women living in the Darfur region of Sudan are highlighted in this brief documentary classroom resource designed as a Key Stage 3 global citizenship lesson starter.

Due to years of civil war in Sudan, women have to cope with earning a living and raising a family single-handedly. This video reveals to secondary pupils Fatima's struggle to feed and clothe her family while working as a builder's assistant.

Questions are suggested at the end to help create a classroom debate for Year 7 to Year 9.
