A group of teachers from all over the country try their hand at making people laugh by giving stand up comedy a go.
Both stand up and teaching require unflinching courage and an ability to choose the right words at the right time, but can the teachers successfully turn their skills to making people laugh?
Quick-fire one-liners about bodily functions are set alongside elaborate plays on language and grim pronunciation. Some teachers even demonstrate their musical talents in the name of comedy.
There are also gags about regional differences, and observations about technology and the maddening frustrations of everyday teaching life. Compere Peter Curran offers his comments on their attempts, recorded in 2005.
