Extended Schools

Description

Under the Labour government's Every Child Matters (ECM) agenda, by 2010 all primary and secondary schools are expected to offer extended services outside normal school hours. Find out more in this whole-school video.

This video follows the headteacher and newly appointed extended school co-ordinator at Cheviot Junior School in South Tyneside, as they prepare to offer extended services at the school with the help of parents and pupils.

It reveals the appointment of the co-ordinator, the planning and consultation over breakfast clubs, and the after-school activities that involve parents.
