Can you create a new opera from a blank sheet of paper to the world premiere in just seven days? That's the challenge for 24 teachers in the Royal Opera House's Write an Opera course.
Guided by a top team of creative tutors, the teachers must write and perform their new work complete with costumes, lighting and sets. The skills they learn will then be transferred to their own schools.
Challenged to work outside their comfort zones, even those with no previous musical experience learn about the politics of collaboration, being part of a creative team and what it's like to be a student again.
