Scotland - CPD

Description

Find out how the Scottish education system manages CPD, and hear two Chartered Teachers explain how their status works for them.

In 2000, Scotland introduced a framework of standards associated with professional development. This framework lead to a professional-development culture, with individuals largely taking decisions.

The new system means teachers gain recognition for the work they do, and the introduction of the Chartered Teacher - a master's degree involving 12 modules - is designed to enable teachers to gain professional recognition and develop their careers to a very high level.
