This whole-school video examines the issues raised in the government's 2004 white paper on integrating health and social care, and it shows why schools should address healthy living issues as part of Every Child Matters.
The video explores the key points that all primary and secondary schools need to address: physical activity, diet, sex, drugs, and emotional health and wellbeing. Experts and forward-thinking schools across the country offer practical advice to implement these changes across the whole curriculum, and they highlight potential problems the next generation of adults will face if changes aren't implemented.
A studio debate follows, examining the issues in greater detail and featuring: Colin Noble from the National Healthy Schools Standard; Amanda Dennison, headteacher at the Millennium Primary School in Greenwich; and Cassandra Jardine, author and Daily Telegraph journalist.
