What makes an outstanding teacher is...
- Education Professionals
Peter Curran's tour of the American education system continues with an investigation into the changing relationship between business and education.
In Las Vegas, Curran visits a McDonald's McTeachers' Night and follows a class of elementary school kids as they participate in an MGM-sponsored field trip to the Bellagio casino.
The next stop is a school run by Edison - a company that operates state schools for profit - where Curran learns about their mixed school success and stock market failure.
He then travels on to Los Angeles to meet the Milkens, one of the biggest names in education. The California Virtual Academies, a group of online schools, are a highly efficient education business model.
Finally, Curran meets Lowell Milken, who talks about the future of the business-education relationship.
