Follow five trainee teachers as they compete to see who will impress most in a preliminary interview for a newly qualified teacher (NQT) role.
With an increasing number of trainee teachers chasing a fixed amount of full-time jobs, performing well in interview has never been so important.
Two of the five trainee teachers will go straight through to the next stage, with one other being selected for coaching to see how much they can improve. That person will be then be reinterviewed alongside the remaining two, to see who gets the final spot.
Steven Jones is an ex-City worker who has come to teaching relatively late. He's finding it hard to absorb the amount of educational theory that trainee teachers encounter, never mind being able to regurgitate it clearly in an interview setting.
But at the shortlisting interview, interview coach Christine Webber picks out Steven as the candidate she thinks could most benefit from interview coaching.
