Taking the Lead at Secondary

Description

Sports leadership is a valuable experience in developing young people's skills and at Golden Hillock Sports and Arts College, every student takes a turn at the helm.

The Birmingham college uses such training to develop students as potential leaders of the future in a deprived inner-city community that previously had few.

Along the way, it has found that every student can lead, irrespective of age or sporting ability. The experience of leading enables students to develop skills that will be useful not just in the sporting environment, but in life.
