A focus on the success the staff at King Edward VI School have gained from coaching and mentoring as productive forms of in-house CPD.
The school provides an early development programme in which every NQT is provided with a mentor in their second or third year of teaching, once the intensive support of the first year falls away.
The school's nine-member teaching and learning team has been trained in coaching methods. They find that video analysis is a particularly effective tool and explain how their own model of coaching works.
