Huw Derrick, a teacher at The Aveley School in Essex, talks about his video, PRIDE, including the aims of the project and the research carried out.
The video is part of a unique showcase of videos made by pupils about their own learning.
Huw discusses how the students responded to the challenge of presenting to a professional advertising agency. He also reveals what gains they received in their learning.
Presenter Xanthe Steen is joined in the studio by Huw, education consultant Adrienne Jones and teachers Alex Gibbons and Laura Harris, to discuss the project.
They talk about the key issues of developing creativity, a relaxed curriculum, building self-esteem and confidence and valuing the student voice. They also consider the wider implications of using a teacher video for recording, assessment and CPD.
