Outspoken Labour backbencher...
- Education Professionals
The Scary Guy, a tattooed, giant of a man, talks to secondary students about taking responsibility for their behaviour, using his unconventional appearance to reinforce his anti-bullying message.
Scary talks to upper school students St Joseph's RC High School in Lancashire about his mission to eliminate hate, violence and prejudice. He certainly knows how to get the full attention of his audience, as his personal testimony, shock tactics and audience participation demonstrate in the first session.
Once the audience is hooked he issues his seven days and seven nights challenge, which asks them to only call people by their given name for a whole week.
In session two, Scary gets down to the business of explaining his philosophy using what he calls The Circle of Courage. Non-patronising interaction with the students, crazy diagrams, and humour are the tools of his trade and he wields them with an infectious passion.
