In this programme, Chris Randall explains Teacher of the Future, an intervention plan to improve standards in mathematics.
The plan provides specialist skills in ICT and maths teaching, and targets individual children.
We see how specialist teacher Pali Nahal uses planning and supports the class teacher before the lesson. They discuss the barriers to children understanding problem solving and conclude that it mainly comes down to involvement.
Pali also comments on the benefits of ICT, explaining how it can be used to break down the text of a problem and help to highlight the mathematical language.
